The Sanaa Arts Centre (SAC)

The Moyo Initiative's work is driven by six integrated programs designed to build a self-sustaining and globally competitive creative sector in Tanzania. We are dedicated to providing the resources, education, and infrastructure necessary for creative talent to thrive.

Donate Support to Make Difference way

The Sanaa Arts Centre (SAC) addresses the severe lack of affordable, professional production facilities in Dar es Salaam. It will function as a central resource hub offering subsidized studios, digital labs, and co-working spaces.

This infrastructure is vital for empowering artists to produce high-caliber, commercially competitive work and for fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration essential for industry growth.

  • Centralized, subsidized professional resource hub
  • Eliminating barriers of expensive production costs.
  • Providing high-spec recording and studio facilities.
  • Dedicated digital lab for film and animation training.
  • Fostering industry networking and collaboration.
  • Hosting international artist residencies and exchanges.

The Sanaa Arts Centre (SAC)

A Professional Hub for Creative Production, Exhibition, and Industry Networking

The Sanaa Arts Centre (SAC) is Moyo Initiative's most ambitious physical project, designed to eliminate the critical infrastructure deficit facing professional artists in Dar es Salaam. Current professional facilities are either prohibitively expensive or non-existent, forcing artists to rely on sub-standard equipment or international partners. The SAC will be a centralized, modern, and affordable alternative.

Facility Offerings (Phase I Focus):

The first phase of development will establish the following core professional services:
The SAC serves as an engine for professionalization. By providing access to highcost resources at an affordable price, we empower artists to produce high-quality, commercially viable work, thus increasing their competitiveness on the national and global market. The Centre will also host international collaborations and residencies, bringing global expertise directly to Tanzanian artists.
